Principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour; a particular system of values and principles of conduct; the extent to which an action is right or wrong.
Origin
From Old French moralité, from Late Latin moralitas (manner, character), from Latin moralis (of manners, from mos/moris, custom, manner). The study of morality being the domain of moral philosophy or ethics. Morality can refer both to a particular moral system (Christian morality, Kantian morality) and to the general domain of moral evaluation — the question of what makes actions right or wrong. The word appearing in English from the 14th century.
